OUR BEER

Standard brews on-site, starting with carefully selected ingredients and a process rooted in traditional technique with room for experimentation.

we love beer

Genuinely. The brewing program is personal: new ideas get workshopped after closing, ingredients get sourced around a beer we’ve been dreaming up. It’s fun work, and we think that comes through in the glass.

QUALITY CONTROL

The equipment is serious because the beer deserves it. The process runs from malting, milling, and mashing through extract separation, hop addition and boiling, cooling and aeration, fermentation, yeast separation, and aging. Standard is Craft Malt Certified and sources malt from Riverbend Malt House in Asheville, with a focus on NC terroir. The rotating program moves between crisp lagers and louder releases: stouts, double IPAs, and barrel-aged beers.

The beer here is incredible! I get so tired of going to a brewery with 12 kinds of IPAs and really appreciated the unique and high gravity beers that can be found here. The atmosphere is great and the bartenders are so friendly and knowledgeable.

Standard may be one of my favorite spots in Raleigh.  It has the vibe I’ve been looking for in a Brewery and restaurant. And really awesome beer called Howdy Y’all, which is inspired by ranch water. It’s got a little bit of lime, agave, and just the best taste around.

I visited here before the kitchen opened and I knew it was a place to be excited about. Their beer is just excellent – and they  feature a welcome selection of lagers as opposed to the infinite IPAs every other local brewery seems to lean on
